Châlons-en-Champagne is located in the centre of the Marne region, 30 minutes far from Reims, 1 hour far from Troyes and 2 hours far from Paris. It is a key destination for exploring the Champagne region.

Châlons-en-Champagne is located on the A26-E17 motorway, also known as the Autoroute des Anglais, which runs from Calais to Troyes.

To reach Châlons: Exit 17 Saint-Gibrien or Exit 18 Mont-Choisy.

The A4 motorway linking Paris to Strasbourg also runs by Châlons-en-Champagne, exit 27 La Veuve.

Châlons-en-Champagne station can be reached by high-speed train (TGV) running between Paris-Est and Bar-le-Duc. The TGV allows you to reach the capital within an hour. The TER (regional train) also allows you to get there in 1 hour 35 minutes. Châlons-en-Champagne is a major station on the TER Grand Est network. It is therefore easy to arrive by train from the regions’ main cities or from the surrounding areas with frequent services running daily:

  • Paris (1 to 1 hr 30 mins)
  • Lille (2 hrs)
  • Nancy (2 hrs)
  • Strasbourg (3 hrs)

Châlons-en-Champagne train station is a 10-minute walk from the city centre, in easy reach of accommodation, places of interest and meeting points.

Ticket office opening hours at Châlons station:

  • Mondays to Fridays: 6am – 7pm
  • Saturdays: 7.30am – 6pm
  • Sundays: 12 – 7.15pm

Châlons-en-Champagne has excellent bus links thanks to the Fluo Grand Est network, which offers a wide variety of daily connections.

Flixbus also provides services to and from Châlons for locations throughout France and Europe. The Tourist Office is in partnership with Flixbus. You can book your tickets directly at the reception desk.

The Flixbus stop is located in the Gare Routière, 12 Avenue de Valmy.

Paris-Vatry airport is 20 minutes from Châlons-en-Champagne and has several direct scheduled flights to and from Fez, Porto and Marrakech.

In summer, charter flights to other exotic destinations are also available.
