in Châlons-en-Champagne
-
The synagogue of Châlons-en-Champagne was built between 1874 and 1875 on plans by local architect Alexis Vagny.
It looks like a small church of Moorish style.
On the front face is written « Que tes demeures sont aimables ô Eternel Tsévaot! », a biblical verse in Hebrew taken from Psalm 84.
This synagogue is still in business. Just opposite is a Protestant church.
