The Garinet museum displays its collections in a building built at the beginning of the 16th century. From 1599 until the Revolution, it was the residence of the Vidamé of the Bishop of Châlons-en-Champagne.

Purchased in 1800 by Claude Joseph Garinet, the house was then bequeathed to his son, Jules Garinet, a great scholar and wealthy collector from Châlonnais.

There is a remarkable collection of paintings from Northern, French and Italian schools (from the 14th to the 19th centuries), drawings, sculptures and works of art: bronzes, enamels, earthenware and porcelain, distributed according to the taste of the ancients. owners.

On the second floor, an imaginary museum of French monuments brings together 98 wooden models sculpted by Doctor Mohen in the 19th century and representing churches, cathedrals and town halls in several towns in France.
