A turquoise story

We headed over to Pierry, just 30 minutes from Châlons-en-Champagne! Nathalie welcomed us to her property with a big smile and beautiful turquoise eyes.

Turquoise is the house’s signature colour, and appears on parasols, T-shirts and the Classic Brut label.

Nathalie invites you to discover the House’s production facilities. It was created by her father, Jean, in 1969. He loved to paint and thanks to him, the property looks like an art gallery. Once again, you’ll notice that the artist was very fond of the colour turquoise!

Time for a tasting

It’s time for the tasting. On this sunny day, Nathalie and her husband Gilles invited us to sit outside in the courtyard. They have a wide range of varieties including 9 cuvées and 2 ratafias.

Among them, a very special vintage! They brought out a bottle entirely covered in sand. So, why was that? This bottle had spent eight months in the Atlantic Ocean. It seems that this period under water gives this champagne a slight taste of iodine… What a wonderful concept!

Between the two tastings, Gilles gave us a demonstration of disgorging on the fly. Precise, efficient and impressive!

We had a wonderful time with Nathalie and Gilles! Their knowledge of champagne and the vineyards is fascinating, their champagne is delicious and their smiles, contagious.
