A paradise for

water sports

6 beaches, with lifeguard surveillance in summer, and 3 marinas displaying the Blue Flag await you.

Everything you need is here to enjoy a trip on the water, to take a dip or go fishing.

The Lac du Der offers an amazing natural environment, ideal to discover on a bike ride. Don’t miss a tour of the lake, which is suitable for everyone (36 km – 3 hours). Around 100 km of greenways and 250 km of marked trails for walking or mountain biking have been mapped out passing through oak forests, villages in the surrounding countryside, passing dams and across unspoilt landscapes.

A rare ornithological site

in Europe

The Lac du Der, a rare ornithological site in Europe where around 310 different bird species, some of which are endangered, can be observed throughout the year.

From springtime onwards, nature awakes with a whole range of flora and fauna to enjoy from the observatories set up around the lake. You may be lucky enough to see one of the only pairs of white-tailed eagles in France.

In autumn, migratory birds attract many avid birdwatchers and enthusiasts with the arrival of tens and sometimes hundreds of thousands of Common Cranes, the emblematic bird of Lac du Der.
