V52 itinerary - the cycle path

the Marne Valley

The Marne Valley cycle path is a 65 km route running from Dormans to Moncetz-Longevas via Châlons-en-Champagne.

In the heart of the Champagne region, which has been awarded the “Vignobles et Découvertes” label, it passes through the hillsides, houses and cellars of Champagne, which are listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, skirting the Montagne de Reims Regional Nature Park.

The V52 cycle route follows the Canal Latéral à la Marne, providing a landscape skilfully crafted by human hands to shape the plots and hillsides.

It is part of the V52 route which runs from Paris to Strasbourg.

Voies vertes

What exactly is a voie verte ? Voies vertes are reserved for non-motorised traffic, including pedestrians, cyclists, rollerbladers, scooters and even horses.

They are found along the towpaths of canals and rivers, on former railway lines, on forest roads and in parks.

The Châlons-en-Champagne greenway is 13 km long and links Recy to Moncetz, following the same route as the Marne Valley cycle path. Its asphalt surface means it is suitable for bikes, rollerblades and wheelchairs.

In the region, there are over 450 km of voies vertes for you to explore.
