Festival des Musiques d’Ici et d’Ailleurs

Music Festival from Here & Elsewhere

Festival des Musique d’ici et d’Ailleurs provides five weeks of discovery, with fascinating collaborations between artists. There are over 50 free concerts running from Tuesday evenings through to Sundays, hosted in the city centre and the surrounding neighbourhoods.

An annual cultural event

of national importance

Ever since 1992, the Musiques sur la Ville association has been offering an annual cultural event during the month of July that is an essential part of the city’s existence.

Presenting an original and outstanding artistic programme, it aims to promote the diversity of musical genres and encourages reciprocal exchanges.

This festival is a real showcase for world and contemporary music, inviting you to discover a variety of musical styles and catch a glimpse of upcoming talent…

A wonderful summer of music in Chalon supporting, more than ever, the cultural, social and economic life of the region; a festival to enjoy and share together.

Concerts

with free admission

The festival includes free admission to all concerts and events, ensuring that everyone has equal access (both in rural areas as well as the city). The artistic line-up is outstanding, with a focus on discovery.

In Châlons-en-Champagne, concerts are held in the city centre in Place Foch, Place de la République or in front of Saint-Alpin Church. Some concerts also take place in the local neighbourhoods.

Other concerts take place in the surrounding towns of Fagnières, Saint-Martin-sur-le-Pré, Vitry-le-François and Sainte-Menehould.

MIA3J Festival

Entirely focused on women

For more than 5 years, MIA3J Festival, which takes place at the Jard Anglais, has been promoting female creativity and cultural equality.

This festival marks the close of the Festival Musiques d’Ici et d’Ailleurs and has become a national event.

It offers a programme focused on women with concerts, talks, debates and special workshops, film and documentary screenings, exhibitions, awareness campaigns along with other artistic forms of expression about women’s status in society.
