Say goodbye to the cold and gloom of winter. In the summer, we love to be outdoors in the fresh air, enjoy fun-packed sunny days, meeting up with friends and having a great time. The Châlons Beach program offers a whole host of entertainment and activities so you can feel as though you were really holidaying by the sea…

the water's edge

Throughout the summer, the Grand Jard is transformed into a huge “beach”. This sun-drenched programme is packed with activities to choose from, including sports, relaxation and cultural events.

Activities for everyone to enjoy, on the water, outdoor sports, films and concerts, sunbathing with refreshing misters to keep you cool, or perhaps simply finding a shady spot under a tree to read your book… The summer will be more fun than ever this year!

This is all set in a lush green environment with a backdrop of the magnificent Saint Etienne Cathedral.

And if you feel a little thirsty or peckish, there are two pop-up bars and an ice cream parlour on site.

For those looking for rest and relaxation:

Sunbathing: Around 40 sun loungers are set up each morning and packed away at night. Magazines and newspapers are also available from a lending stand to really make the most of your time in the sun. A giant hammock is also provided.
Sandbox: The sandbox is located in the shade of the trees between the beach area and the sun loungers. Perfect for protecting little ones from the sun!

For those hungry for knowledge:

The pop-up library is back! The network of municipal libraries has spread its wings and landed at the Grand Jard to provide reading matter to the public. This includes novels, comics, mangas, magazines, daily newspapers and children’s books. Enjoy reading in this wonderful setting, whether sitting or lying on the grass, or relaxing in a sun lounger in the shade of the pine trees, perhaps with a verse of Rimbaud in hand.
The Péniche Night & Day offers a bar and mobile cinema, and a unique location for talks and presentations.

For the more active
